Passion For Aviation

Les Whittlesey, the founder of Legacy Aviation Development, literally grew up at the airport, developing a real passion for aviation. The son of a former Air Force pilot and airline captain, he was introduced to aviation at a very early age. Before he started flying at the age of 17, he spent much of his free time at the airport. In addition, he spent many years building flight hours as a flight instructor, aircraft delivery service pilot, charter and corporate pilot. Along the way he was introduced to vintage aircraft which have become a passion of his, having restored several vintage bi-planes and a Grand Champion Lockheed 12A “Electra Junior”. With over 3,000 flight hours in over 80 different types of aircraft from the J-3 Cub to the Mig-29, his passion for aviation is evident in Legacy’s developments.
